Example screenshot

I was playing a LastFM stream, and hovered over the currently playing song image. This popped up a bigger version of the image, but it was simply the small thumbnail expanded, which looked very blocky with JPG artefacts.

Clicking the artwork in the LastFM information panel opens the artwork in a new window, which is displayed correctly at the original artworks native resolution.

I think the artwork should not appear any bigger than the source resolution.

Michael, any idea here?
Comment 2 Michael Herger 2008-08-21 00:38:06 UTC
It indeed shouldn't. Would it still display too big the second time you hover over the artwork?
Comment 3 Philip Meyer 2008-08-21 00:45:37 UTC
Yes, displays too big every time I hover over the thumbnail.

However, not all lastFM thumbnails exhibit this behaviour. Perhaps some of their artwork is in a different format?

can't reproduce this here (IE7, FF2/3, Opera, Safari). The generic Last.FM icon (which sometimes is displayed - don't know why) was shown large, the others not.

Any JS errors?
Comment 5 Philip Meyer 2008-08-22 12:23:21 UTC
I tried again today, and haven't seen the problem since I reported it. Perhaps some dodgy lastFM artwork for the odd album here or there.

I didn't notice any JS errors when it occurred.

Feel free to re-open if you see this again. Thanks!
