Description Chris Owens 2008-08-19 11:31:22 UTC
Only available on the ReadyNAS build for now.
Comment 1 Michael Herger 2008-08-19 23:39:50 UTC
I wonder whether we should rather put such stuff in a kind of plugin which every 3rd party (manufacturer, provider of a NAS package etc.) could provide, without having to hard-code it in the base code.
Comment 2 Jim McAtee 2008-08-20 08:28:24 UTC
Plugins are fine, but if you go this route, please don't put another checkbox for the plugin on the plugin page. There would be no point. Having disabled checkboxes on the plugin page for things like the CLI and Favorites, plugins that are always loaded and enabled, makes no sense to me.

Andy: Is this feasible for 7.2?
Comment 4 Andy Grundman 2008-08-20 12:19:37 UTC
Once we get the patches Netgear uses to enable their scanner, it should be.
Comment 5 Justin Maggard 2008-08-20 17:39:23 UTC
Since this is ReadyNAS-specific, I was able to get approval to put this in the ReadyNAS UI. So this shouldn't be necessary for the time being. Let me know if there's a problem with that.

I'm confused. What release will this appear in? The one going out in a couple of days? If the C scanner gets improved we may want to add this to SC later on anyway....
Comment 7 Justin Maggard 2008-08-20 18:36:11 UTC
Yes, it'll be in 4.1.3 which should be out in a matter of days.

What we have been doing is replacing squeezecenter-scanner with a perl wrapper that calls sq-scanner (the binary scanner). If you guys decide to ship with the binary scanner on other architectures, I assume you would just want to include it with a different file name, and just call that other file name if that option is set in the prefs.

Reduce number of active targets for SC
