Description Steve Bernard 2005-03-02 09:45:37 UTC
In 6.0a2 (and 6.0a1) the Browse Artwork page shows albums in a different order
than Browse Albums. The first five albums I have under Browse Albums are:

1
#1 Record
10 Cent Wings
1st Imaginary Symphony for Nomad
2

Whereas under Browse Artwork, the albums I get first are:

#1 Record
'Every Last Romance'
(This Is) What We Call Progress
1
10 Cent Wings

All of this is understandable, with the non-alpha characters listed before A-Z,
though it is different from the ordering under Browse Albums. The end of the
list is much weirder. My last five albums in Browse Albums are:

You Made Me Realise
You Make Us Go
Young God Records Compilation 2000 A.D.
Your Favorite Music
ZeRo-oNe-INFINITY

In Browse Artwork, I have the same five in a row, but then I have 9 covers
listed after "ZeRo-oNe-INFINITY":

"a tall tale storyline"
"a little more Haven Hamilton, please"
Bloweyelashwish
De Gainsbourg a Gainsbarre
iTunes Exclusive - EP
III
...or you could just go through your whole life and be happy anyway
PTTM
xuvetyn

I checked back to see if another album I had whose title started with '...' was
correct, and "...Smile's OK" was in its correct spot after "Smile" and before
"Something About Airplanes"

Also related to this, all of my albums starting with "The" have their artwork
alphabetized under "T" instead of ignoring the "The" like my server settings
specify. These also show up correctly in Browse Albums.

This has been tested after three wipes and rescans, and on both Default and
Fishbone skins.

with placeholders seems ok, without placeholders is probably not being sorted
with the same criteria as it is built from a different list.

Steve - I've fixed this in subversion change 2294.

It will show up in tonight's builds at 1am US/Pacific.

There are 536 bugs in the database with targets of '---' that were fixed prior to new year 2006. I am setting them to targets of 6.2.1 to keep them from showing up in my queries.
