Description Mark Lanctot 2008-08-14 07:06:12 UTC
When connected to SC 7.2 22579 Boom branch, SB2 seems to use the Boom font with small empty spaces between words in the Standard font.

This is with SB2/SB3 firmware 110 (not entirely certain, to be verified).
Comment 1 Adrian Smith 2008-08-14 11:14:54 UTC
Which fonts does it claim to be using (see player display settings)?
Comment 2 Mark Lanctot 2008-08-14 11:55:04 UTC
"Standard" font as reported from the web UI, although do you mean through the player UI?
Comment 3 Jim McAtee 2008-08-14 12:50:47 UTC
Just the word spacing, or also the between letter spacing? Letter spacing is easy to tell the difference, word spacing isn't nearly as easy. Looking at mine, I think they're different, but I couldn't swear to it.

Word spacing. Letter spacing looks like it always has.

I don't see it here, can you attach an image?

Mark: Can you upload a screenshot please?

SB2 text spacing

Sorry for the wait Dean, here it is.

It sort of looks OK here, but I can tell that the spacing between words has narrowed considerably and it looks identical to the Boom font to me.

So if you replace the font file with one from a previous version and touch it, do you notice a difference after a restart? [you need to make the font file newer than the font cache, hence need to touch it to refresh its date]

Same bug for me...

SqueezeCenter Version: 7.2 - 22997 @ Tue Sep 2 02:02:58 PDT 2008 - Windows XP - EN - cp1252

Squeezebox 3 Firmware: 112

I see it on the Standard font

Can I, for now, extract the font file from a 7.1 zip and overwrite? If so, what file and where's it go?

Dean do you recall why we assigned this to you? Is the problem clear?
