Reported here:

I have my Duet for less than a week and I noticed that it will turn itself on after a while.

Using the controller, I'll turn it off. Overnight or a few hours later, I'll walk up to it and the light on the front will be white. If I fire up the controller, I have an option to turn the player on. So it is like it turned itself on but didn't notify anything else.

My receiver is connected via WiFi. I am running the released version of 7.1 on Open SuSE 10.2.

QA: Please reproduce.

Several times I've noticed my Receiver on after there's been a power flicker (the Receiver's not on a UPS).

Both my receivers turn themselves on. I tend not to use them that often, but always turn them off (LED dark) when I'm done. The next time I look at them (after days or weeks) they are invariable on again (white LED). I haven't verified whether they are reported as on in the web interface or controller. My squeezecenter instance will have been restarted several times in the intervening period. There may well also have been firmware updates. The power supply should have been stable, however.

QA has verified, that during a power cycle for any reason, the receiver will indeed power back on, yet not report it's new state to SC/SN.

We should add code to the players firmware to report their power state to the server after a power cycle
Comment 4 Felix Mueller 2008-08-28 13:52:37 UTC
The power state is fully controlled by the server, the player doesn't know if it's turned on or off. Also SBRs LED is controlled from the server, but if a turned off SBR disconnects and then reconnects (due to a power-cycle or network issue) SC/SN does not set the LED according to the power state which makes it look as SBR is turned on.

I'll look into it.
