Jive: Factory Reset wipes out ssh setting and keys file
Last modified: 2009-09-08 09:19:19 UTC
FW: Several different versions, like jive_7.3_r2830.bin, jive_7.2_r2802.bin, and others HW: MP unit Note: This is another issue that prevents automated Factory Reset tests. Once reset, Jive can no longer be controlle by test PC. Steps to Reproduce: 1. Update Jive unit to jive_7.2_r2802.bin. 2. Make sure Remote Login is activated. 3. Make sure both the /root/.ssh folder and authorized_keys file exist. 4. Perform factory reset. 5. After setting the unit up with Ray and SC, check the Remote Login setting. 6. Notice Remote Login is now unchecked. 7. Check to see if .ssh fold and the keys file are still there. 8. Notice they are not. Users must setup the entire ssh again.

A factory reset will reset everything. I don't think that this can be fixed by changing the factory reset. Can't the serial console or SD card be used by the test framework to work around?
Adding the USB dongle to the current tests setup will definitely add flexibility to the tests framework.
Ok, that's a better solution than not doing a complete factory reset.
You should be able to script enabling ssh and adding keys via an sd card.
Jive seems to retain the ssh status if it has connection to the Ray and test PC when the factory reset was initiated. If not, then no ssh after reset. Since this will not be fixed, this user will not investigate further. Closing.
