Description Kim Kruse Petersen 2008-08-11 11:17:16 UTC
When settings on SC are set to loop to external DSP as well as the synchronisation mode in the transporter, this setting is lost when stopping and restarting the SC. SC returns then to default (no looping).

ReadyNAS running radiator 4.01, 7.1-22254 as of 1. august.

Michael: Do you know how these settings are saved (or rather, not)?
Comment 2 Michael Herger 2008-08-11 21:45:21 UTC
I would have expected DSP setting to be a pref like all the others. When you've shut down SC, don't you see a value for fxloopSource in server.prefs? Do you see this on ReadyNAS and Transporter only, but not eg. on PC or with a SB3 (if you have one)?

Sync groups imho are not saved. Alan might know better?

Hi,
I dont know where to check the settings on the loop/synchronization on ReadyNAS, ie the fxloopSource in server.prefs.

But issue is quite disturbing, as I am setting the volume to max 0dB and are feeding the Transporter directly to my two mono-blocks and are regulating the volume through my Tact 2.2. When loosing the settings, the power amps gets full output level.

Tell me where to diagnostic, in case.

Kim - are you comfortable accessing the ReadyNAS using SSH? You could take a peek at the configuration file using the following command:

more /var/lib/squeezecenter/prefs/server.prefs

Search for that setting by entering "/fxloop" plus return. If there's more than one occurence of that string, you can jump to the next by hitting "n". "q" will get you out of this file, "exit" will close the ssh connection.

I'm sorry, this won't make it to 7.2.

Any news?

Hi,

Sorry for the delay in the investigation.
The problem seems more complicated than first initialised, however.

Sometimes, the SC is in fact "remembering" the setting, some times not. But when restarting SC transporter only recognise the setting when forcing an update on the SC audio setting page, OR rebooting the Transporter.

I will try later to check the configuration file as proposed to see what is going on.

Hi,

I have now checked out a newer version for the ReadyNAS. Version 7.1.1 22835.
In this version the problem is solved.

I cannot see the soution in any change logs, but the issue has gone.

I will close the bug.

Reduce number of active targets for SC
