Description Arturs 2008-08-05 13:06:27 UTC
I'm running SqueezeCenter on a QNAP TS-109.

There are problems with Latvian accented letters in FLAC and probably other tags too. I use mostly FLAC.

FLAC tags are UTF-8, other software player shows them correctly, but SqueezeCenter fails to show them properly. Some chars are OK, but some chars are skipped, shown as rectangle or some other glyphs.

SqueezeCenter Version: 7.1 - 22170 @ Mon Jul 28 13:31:43 PDT 2008 - Linux - EN - utf8
Perl Version: 5.8.8 armv5tejl-linux-thread-multi
MySQL Version: 5.0.27
Platform Architecture: armv5tejl-linux

Could you please upload a _small_ sample file which exposes this issue? What kind of character or character combination is this? Player/web/controller UI?

This slightly remembers me of an issue we had with eg. consecutive umlauts like "öö".

Few track previews that represent tagging problem with Latvian (Baltic) language.

This zip file contains 5 small FLAC files with problematic tags.

I have added a png file that shows correct tags and red underline marks problems in SqueezeCenter. Underlined parts are shown incorrectly or even skipped at all.

steven, can you take a look at this track
Comment 4 Spies Steven 2008-11-17 13:46:59 UTC
Arturs, would you be so kind to attach a screen shot from a tag editor or something similar showing the correct tags for your files? I am not exactly sure how the complete tags should look, thanks.
Comment 5 Arturs 2008-11-18 01:18:09 UTC
My Comment #2 has an attachment (.zip) with FLAC sample files and screen shot from FooBar2000 showing the correct chars.

Underlined parts are sown incorrectly or not at all in SqueezeCenter and SqueezeController.

Sorry Arturs, I misunderstood the image file when I first looked at it.

The tags in question do show up properly using metaflac with the attached files.
