Description David A. Gordon 2008-08-01 12:07:06 UTC
I've had this problem whenever I've done a clean install of SqueezeCenter recently, and now it's happening with 7.1 - 22170. During the setup wizard I make sure that the use iTunes option is unchecked, but the first scan of my music library will include my iTunes music. Curiously, the "use iTunes" box under Setting in SC is unchecked. If I clear and rescan the library, everything is fine (the iTunes music is not included).

David: when you say "clean install" are you doing an Uninstall of the previous version of SC first, making sure to remove the prefs file from c:\programdata\squeezecenter as well?

Yup, that's what I mean.

David one more question, can you give me the full path of your iTunes music directory please. I.E. c:\james\music\itunes\blablalba\

My setup is a bit complicated:

The iTunes Music folder location (the thing you set in iTunes under Preferences -> Advanced) is "G:\music\iTunes music". This contains podcasts and purchased stuff.

The music in my iTunes library that's not in the iTunes Music folder (the bulk of my iTunes library) is in "G:\music\mp3".

G is an external USB drive connected to the computer running SC, and it's shared across my home network.

The location of my music for SC is "C:\sc music". This contains three shortcuts, one to "G:\music\flac", one to "G:\music\iTunes music", and one to "G:\music\other".

Maybe the problem is that one of the shortcuts points to "G:\music\iTunes music"? Note that I *do* clearly want the music in there to show up in SC; I just don't want the stuff under "G:\music\mp3" to show up in SC, and that's what's showing up even though I tell SC I don't want to use iTunes music. I hope this makes sense.

Thanks!

Steven: your thoughts on his setup?

I verified this happens with SqueezeCenter Version: 7.2 - 22368 @ Tue Aug 5 02:03:01 PDT 2008 - Windows Vista - EN - cp1252

With an existing iTunes library, install 7.2 on a system that has not had it before. During the install, unselect auto music folder / iTunes / playlist. After install, notice that a music import was done.

Andy - I doubt you mind me reassigning this :-)
Comment 8 Michael Herger 2008-08-06 02:05:43 UTC
change 22406 - make sure iTunes/MusicIP settings are saved before audiodir, as changing audiodir automatically launches a rescan

Verified fixed in 7.2-22530

This bug has been fixed in the 7.3.0 release version of SqueezeCenter!

Please download the new version from http://www.slimdevices.com/su_downloads.html if you haven't already.

If you are still experiencing this problem, feel free to reopen the bug with your new comments and we'll have another look.
