Description James Richardson 2008-07-31 09:48:22 UTC
Does the SUB/Headphone Jack auto detect the type of device plunged in?

I.E. if I plug in a Headphone does boom turn off speakers and switch the output to stereo

VS.

Plugging in a SUB and boom switches to MONO and leaves speakers on?
Comment 1 James Richardson 2008-07-31 09:52:58 UTC
8146 Allow software selection of headphone vs speaker output
8260 Headphone & Speakers active at the same time
8339 Boom subwoofer line out only drives right channel

Discussion with Caleb and Steven today was:

1. The default setting should be headphone
2. Upon plugging in something the first time, the user should be jumped to the setting screen where they can can make a change and commit.

Michael: would this be yours to change in the plugin?
Comment 3 Michael Herger 2008-07-31 12:03:41 UTC
There's no plugin yet for this. How can I catch the event of something being plugged in?
Comment 4 Blackketter Dean 2008-07-31 13:29:18 UTC
Ah, sorry, there is a setting, but I guess it's not implemented as a plugin. Yet.

Change 22420 adds a notification event for LIOS.
Comment 8 Michael Herger 2008-08-07 05:00:09 UTC
change 22450 - display analogOut selection when a user plugs something into the line out for the first time.

Is there really no way to jump to the settings menu? Would like not to duplicate it.

You could possibly add an explicit menu definition for the setting menu in S:B:Setting:init (as done for MUSICSOURCE) and then call it with S:B:Home:jumpToMenu, but this is speculation and you would need to try. I think the downside is that it would make this menu available for any player from the edit menu web page - so you probably don't want to do it.
Comment 10 Michael Herger 2008-08-08 05:26:36 UTC
change 22467 - moved the menu defintion to a sub which is called by the event handler too
