'Connecting to SlimServer...' message could be more verbose, for instance: 
Connecting to [wireless/ethernet] network...  then Connecting to SlimServer once
that's done.  Having only 'Connecting to SlimServer' leaves you wondering why
something might be failing and having no clue.

It will now show what it's including saying "connecting to wireless network".

This bug has been fixed in the 7.3.0 release version of SqueezeCenter!

Please download the new version from http://www.slimdevices.com/su_downloads.html if you haven't already.
