Description James Richardson 2008-07-30 11:37:01 UTC
When an alarm goes off, and the alarm is set to fade in (default) then the voluem is very low and will not ramp up. This only happens when the server is not running.

If I turn off alarm fade in then the volume is OK
Comment 1 Caleb Crome 2008-07-30 16:08:32 UTC
James, do you want it to fade in slowly, or just not sound a small crack when it comes on and off?
Comment 2 James Richardson 2008-07-30 19:49:20 UTC
I think it should fade up slowly
Comment 3 Caleb Crome 2008-07-31 21:13:18 UTC
Checked in revision r4658. This uses the multitone test as the alarm sound.

This is far from ideal -- its not a looping MP3, nor does it fade in. However, its a less confusing alarm than a 1k test tone.

Its also far from ideal, because the testtone we generate has lots of distortion built in, so it sounds like Boom is distorting.

But... like I said, better than a 1k tone.

Michael notes the synced volume should be the fade-in FINAL volume, not the fade-in start volume.
Comment 5 Andy Grundman 2008-08-05 08:16:43 UTC
OK I think this is actually a bug in the UIs for volume selection:

In Player UI, the RTC volume is not updated when the alarm volume is changed.

In Web UI, the RTC volume is changed when the alarm volume slider is changed, but it uses the previous value the first time you click Apply.
Comment 6 Michael Herger 2008-08-05 08:34:28 UTC
alarm needs to update RTC volume on changes
Comment 7 Max Spicer 2008-08-05 09:31:10 UTC
Should be fixed in change 22392, but needs testing.

Marking as fixed, QA to verify.
