Description Anoop Mehta 2008-07-28 14:06:39 UTC
Crossfade does not work at all.

Set cross fade duration to 10 seconds and still nothing.

I was able to reproduce via 7.0.1 and Ross was able to reproduce via 7.1 fw36.

Ross: Can you reproduce this with SC 7.2?
Comment 2 Ross Levine 2008-07-31 13:04:26 UTC
Yes, I can. Also this appears to be an issue with SB3 and Transporter. 7.2 - 22255
Comment 3 Chris Owens 2008-08-04 09:51:46 UTC
Steven notes that the duration can be set without it actually being enabled.

I have not been able to reproduce this issue.

Using a clean install of the release version of 7.1 on both Mac OS X and Windows XP I experience proper crossfade functionality with Transporter, Receiver and Squeezebox Classic.

Crossfade is now set to 10 seconds by default so all I had to do was enable crossfade for it to work.

Is it possible that the players were synced? Crossfading while synced is currently not supported.

Now I'm not able to reproduce either. Sorry, I'm crazy. :-)

My Duet works on it's own without any problem. The crossfade is only just discernible when set to 10 seconds maximum. However, unless you listen carefully, it is basically back to back tracks, unless there is a silent passage at the end of a track, in which case it continues to the end. There is little fade in or out over the 10 seconds.
My SB3s (x3) all work correctly whether synchronised or on their own. If the Duet is introduced, the crossfade stops on the SB3s. They also start and stop randomly, so I have to use the Duet as a standalone.
I have now gone back to SqueezeCenter 7.0 as 7.1 is marginally less stable on my Windows Home Server and it does not support the Alienbbc plug-in I have and I can't get the version specified to work with 7.1, which is disappointing.

David Martin
