Description Philip Meyer 2008-07-25 15:27:27 UTC
I created a playlist with an entry "wavin:1", which is used for the WaveInput
plugin to read live soundcard output.

I seem to be able to enter that urn, and save the playlist. But when I do a
rescan, I get a warning that the item doesn't exist on disk, and therefore is
removed from the playlist.
Comment 1 Chris Owens 2008-07-28 09:30:35 UTC
Andy suggests that you need to use a URL
Comment 2 Andy Grundman 2008-07-28 09:31:19 UTC
Yeah, did you try having your plugin work on a URL like wavin://1 ? Try looking at how the Digital Input plugin is implemented.
Comment 3 Philip Meyer 2008-07-28 10:58:39 UTC
I tried using wavin://1 urn's in my playlist, which also work. However, when the playlist is read back off disk during a scan, they still disapear. The items are still in the playlist file on disk.

My playlist /.m3u file looks like this:

#CURTRACK 0
#EXTM3U
#EXTINF:-1,What U Hear
wavin://1
#EXTINF:-1,Analog Mix
wavin://4
#EXTINF:-1,Wave
wavin://6
Comment 4 Andy Grundman 2008-07-28 11:06:21 UTC
Shouldn't those be favorites rather than in a single playlist? Anyway it's still a bug if they don't show up properly... the scanner must think they are invalid. Anything in the scan.scanner or scan.import log maybe?

We are now planning to make a 7.3.3 release. Please review your bugs (all marked open against 7.3.3) to see if they can be fixed in the next few weeks, or if they should be retargeted for 7.4 or future.

Thanks!
Comment 6 Chris Owens 2009-03-30 17:30:03 UTC
Since there's now a planned 7.3.3 release, bugs which won't make the cut-off are being moved to the next target out. If you feel that this bug needs to be addressed more (or less) urgently than the 7.4 release, please cc chris@slimdevices.com and leave a comment in the bug to that effect so we can review it.

Thanks.

For some reason Bugzilla did not change the target when I did this yesterday. Or maybe it was me. In either case, I'm trying it again.

A few other bug reports have been raised on this same issue. The latest is:

https://bugs-archive.lyrion.org/show_bug.cgi?id=16188

I guess the targetted version (7.2) for this bug report is invalid now(!!!), and should be updated? I've changed to unspecified.
