Description Matt Wise 2008-07-24 12:51:47 UTC
SqueezeCenter (boom) 22008 and above seem to fail to play music right after updating a players firmware. It shows the music as in 'play' mode, but the progress bar does not move and the player makes no sound.

This is reproducible by installing SC with a Boom on FW18, manually downloading FW19 and restarting SC. The Boom will update to FW19, but when it comes back up SC will not be able to play music.

Mickey had a similar issue. I reproduced this twice.

I tested it some more. It affects only the player which had the firmware upgraded. Other players connected to the same SC play music just fine. I'll try to get a log for this.

Forgot to mention I reproduced with an SB3.

Tested Boom fw18 -> fw19, no problems.

Verified fix 7.2-22579

Andy, perhaps this needs an 'if ($client->power()) ...' test? A player should only be marked active if it is logically 'on'. I'm just not sure I understand the precise circumstances which cause the problem, or I'd go ahead and make the change.
Comment 8 Andy Grundman 2008-08-15 04:17:04 UTC
Ah, maybe. To reproduce the player has to go out for a firmware upgrade and come back before it is forgotten by Slimproto.
