Bugzilla – Bug 8784
layout messed up in Settings panes in Classic skin
Last modified: 2008-07-27 18:06:57 UTC
With Firefox, the layout of the Server and Player Settings panes is messed up in the Classic skin. The Settings pane is functional, but the content in the pane below the top pulldown that offers different settings pages sits both below and to the right of the top pulldown -- imagine a text file with a line feed but no cariage return, so the subsequent text is below the first line but not left aligned with the first line. I have not tried recent builds of 7.0.x or 7.1, so I don't know if it applies there. Sorry I haven't bothered to try finding the specific error in the HTML markup (seems that it's probably something very simple), but this bug has been around for a while now & I kept hoping someone else would let Michael know!
What FF version? No problem here. Could you please provide a screenshot?
Created attachment 3623 [details] Player settings Here's a screenshot from SC7.2, SVN r21899. Firefox 3.0 on Ubuntu 8.04 LTS i386, all Add-Ons disabled.
Created attachment 3632 [details] fine in FFF3/Win
Created attachment 3633 [details] Broken when zooming text only Peter - are you using an increased font size? I only see this issue when setting the zoom factor really high (which does not seem to be the case in your screenshot)
Created attachment 3634 [details] fine on Ubuntu 8.04, too
Perhaps for a small window or small resolution you'd be better off with a skin designed for it, such as Nokia?
Zooming font -- yes, exactly. Using Ctrl Plus to make the text more readable cause the problem. I'd love to see this fixed, but I understand your not wanting to spend time on it. Perhaps some day I'll delve into Classic and see if I can fix it & give you a patch to review. Thanks for checking it out. Chris -- this is for my regular laptop screen, a pretty run-of-the-mill unit; nothing exotic like an EEE.
