Try this: 

1. Disconnect boom from server
2. Power off, see the clock.
3. Power on and immediately turn the knob
4. Notice that you see the time come back on the screen and then the 

Turning the knob (like any other button) should cancel the splash screens and take you straight to the menus.

Fixed in Boom fw 19.

This bug has been fixed in the 7.3.0 release version of SqueezeCenter!

Please download the new version from http://www.slimdevices.com/su_downloads.html if you haven't already.
