Small Artwork view is space inefficient
Last modified: 2009-09-08 09:25:42 UTC
You’d think displaying albums by “small” art would be more space efficient but it’s not. Displaying albums with small art shows you 10 albums at a time. (approx) While displaying large artwork gets you 16 albums at a time. (4x4) This makes large artwork better all around. Suggestion: make small artwork display in a grid (like large artwork does) so you could have approx 5×9 albums displayed at a time, yielding 45 albums on one page.
This depends. If you enable display of year and album artist and have extensive tags, you can end up with only one row of covers in large view, where you'll have the double or more in small view, because text is better spread horizontally. This is especially true for classical music. (But then you could argue that classical music lovers aren't of the eye candy loving kind, thus use text-only anyway :-))
Created attachment 3593 [details] large artwork - 6 items

Oh, and small artwork corresponds to the Controller's layout - very important for consistency
It's not a bad idea to consider a smaller image-only view to pack as many albums into the window. Will review post-7.2
