Description Blackketter Dean 2008-07-11 05:03:32 UTC
Some folks are getting stuck with auto-update turned off. Let's just always auto update.
Comment 1 Felix Mueller 2008-07-17 07:37:25 UTC
Removed in rev4535. Will be gone in Boom fw 19.
Comment 2 Felix Mueller 2008-07-17 07:38:22 UTC
Ok, to be more clear. The 'Auto upgrade' entry will be gone in fw 19 so folks cannot turn it off anymore.

Why is this behavior desired in Boom, but not all other players?
Comment 4 Blackketter Dean 2008-07-17 13:28:26 UTC
Because boom doesn't have any way to trigger a manual update (i.e. the user don't get a BRIGHTNESS button.)

Then I would suggest that the proper fix would be to make it the default for all players. If it wasn't important enough to provide a way of doing it in the first place, then it can't be that important for other players. There's also the issue of consistency.

Yeah, that was kinda my point. Why would an SB2/3 user want/need this to be an option?
Comment 7 Blackketter Dean 2008-07-18 04:22:48 UTC
Sure, please feel free to file a bug for this. Mostly it's a historical issue (we weren't confident of the upgrade process, but it's proven to be very robust.)

Verified removed in r19

Please file a new bug for the SB 1/2/3
