Description Virgil King 2008-07-09 13:18:51 UTC
I just updated my (new) readynas duo to squeezecenter 7.0.1 using the file from the squeezecenter website. I have a fix of mp3 and flac files. The squeezecenter scan seemed to find all of them but none of them have any artist information: the top-level artist section is empty and album and song pages don't show the artist. The readynas claims that its software is up to date. There are some repeated errors in the scan log:

[08-07-08 23:58:11.6263] MP3::Info::_parse_lyrics3_tag (2160) Warning: Use of uninitialized value in string eq at /usr/share/squeezecenter/lib/MP3/Info.pm line 2160.

Um, "mix" of mp3 and flac files.

Virgil, apparently there is a 'clean slimserver package' on the ReadyNAS site that would be good to re-install from. Can you try that?

Also, you aren't by some chance running a pre-release scanner from Infrant are you? I know they are working on customizing some parts of the scanner code, but I don't know if it's ready for beta yet.

I installed the "clean slimserver" add-on which caused a rescan. Now the artists appear in the web interface (I don't think they did last time), but the Artist section in the squeezebox interface is still "Empty."

No, I didn't install a beta scanner. I have readynas firmware "RAIDiator 4.01c1-p2 [1.00a042]" and squeezecenter 7.0.1 from slimdevices.com.

Virgil,
Generally speaking the SqueezeCenter 7.0.1 ReadyNas Addon works 'perfectly' in an ideal situation. Unfortunately the older SlimServer packages often leave some files in the way that break our newer packages. The CleanSlimServer addon (which you said you have tried) is designed to remove all traces of SqueezeCenter/SlimServer. If you installed it, and yet your SqueezeCenter still existed -- then something went wrong, I believe.

I hate to push you to NetGear, but perhaps they're tech support can help a bit more with this? It sounds to me as if SqueezeCenter was not fully removed when you ran that CleanSlimServer package...

Virgil, ReadyNAS 4.1.3 is out now and includes SqueezeCenter 7.2. We also offer a full version 7.2 for ReadyNAS at http://www.slimdevices.com/su_downloads.html. If you still have problems after upgrading please reopen this bug and add additional comments, thanks.

7.2 fixed the problem. Thanks!
