When the player reboots after updating the firmware, the screen remains dark until a "Ethernet appears disconnected" error comes on. The player does come up normally a few seconds later.

My setup: Transporter connected via Ethernet, static IP, latest 7.2 SqueezeCenter nightly running on 64-bit Ubuntu 8.04.

This occurred upgrading from FW 40 -> 43 and 43 -> 45.

This is strictly a cosmetic issue, right?  The link can take a few seconds to come up, depending on the switch. It sounds like we need a longer timeout before displaying that message.

Yes, it's cosmetic and causes only a few seconds of panic.

Player connects and operates normally after a second or two of displaying the error message.

This issue is neither new nor serious, and probably only happens with a small number of switches. Targeting "future" - next time we're working on setup code we should have a look.
