Description Bart 2005-02-25 05:06:26 UTC
Feb 25 6.0 build on Windows XP, browsing to localhost:9000 with Internet
Explorer (same behaviour on 6.0a1)
If I change the formatting on the Server Settings/Formatting page and press
refresh then the tracks in the current Player playlist lose their links.
Either the whole track becomes underlined and clicking on it causes it to
play, or the Artist and Title become underlined, with the same effect but the
Album keeps it's link to the album.

This is by design. If you change the formatting, you have changed the TITLE
format. As such, all you get displayed is a title, with an appropriate link for
a title. When the title format includes an artist, the normally present artist
link is suppressed. similarly for albums. The complex parsing required to
create the title format information does not allow for buring links in the
formatted string. If you want the artist and album links, please use a
titleformat that does not include ARTIST or ALBUM

OK, that makes sense, but maybe doesn't work well with MusicMagic integration.
I need to include the artist and the title, otherwise when I make a MusicMagic
mix via the web interface I can't see who any of the tracks are by until I add
them to the playlist.

Also, it leads to a UI inconsistency - sometimes clicking on a link in the
playlist will open a page for the album or track or artist, sometimes it will
play the track. Set up with Title Format set to "ARTIST - TITLE" you will
have two links sitting next to each other in the playlist which do completely
different things. I agree that once you have set it you will get used to it
but it doesn't feel right and will probably be off-putting for people who
aren't used to computers.
