Description Philip Meyer 2008-07-02 01:19:02 UTC
The player selection drop-down list indicates that a player is connected to Squeeze Network, and asks if I'd like to reconnect it to SqueezeCenter.

However, the player was physically turned off.

Not sure whether this is SC or SN bug. If you go to squeezenetwork.com - do you still see the player there? How long has it been powered off?
Comment 2 Philip Meyer 2008-07-02 17:36:02 UTC
The player has never actually been properly connected to SN. I had navigated to the connect to SN menu on the PlayerUI to get the PIN number, and had been trying to enter the PIN in SN, but it wouldn't accept it - said the PIN was invalid. I had a bogus unit in my list of player in SN web UI which I couldn't delete (said it couldn't be deleted whilst connected), so I turned the unit off, to see if that cleared it.

I went back to SC WebUI, and the player was listed there as connected to SN, but the unit was still powered off.

Phil - can you make sure it's the unit you're owning? Please check the MAC addresses. If you haven't been able to enter the PIN then I don't know how it could end up in your account.

(citing Phil's pm):

Follow-up for bug 8628 - email to you directly because I'm going to refer to Boom...

I think I tried to set up my new Boom on the wrong SqueezeNetwork server. Something went very wrong with my players on www.squeezenetwork.com - I had a player listed from an IP address that I don't own, and when I tried to change the name of the player, it changed a different player.

When I then tried to use my local SqueezeCenter, that exhibited the strange behaviour, thinking that the player was connected to SN (it wasn't).

However, I've added the player to boom.squeezenetwork.com, and SC seems okay now. I've also gone back to www.squeezenetwork.com and have now been able to delete the dodgy player.

I think I saw somewhere on the forum that someone else had the same sort of issue, and Andy did some tweaking on SN. So the bug can probably be closed.
