Description Dylan Rhodes 2008-06-24 09:22:38 UTC
I'm sure that this is an artifact of boom.squeezenetwork.com being in beta, but I couldn't find a bug report on this one. I'm logging one for tracking purposes.
Comment 1 Michael Herger 2008-06-27 02:39:06 UTC
And what exactly is the bug?
Comment 2 Dylan Rhodes 2008-06-27 06:48:16 UTC
The text is confusing and ambiguous.

For CE devices, the imperative form ("DO NOT...") is usually reserved for things where something bad will happen; e.g. putting electrical devices in bathtubs.

If we mean this in the sense of "the customer should not scrobble this player," then it's better worded as "scrobbling unavailable" or similar. It's friendlier and doesn't scroll.

If we mean this in the sense of a choice by the customer; ie. "I choose not to enable scrobbling" then I believe the wording to better fit the Boom menus is something like "Scrobbling off".

Andy notes this does need to indicate it's for this specific player. Also short, for use with Boom. Perhaps Dean or Brian Dils could help with the text?
Comment 4 Dylan Rhodes 2008-07-07 11:30:15 UTC
I'd like some additional clarification. Does the message just mean that the player isn't yet configured for last.fm?
Comment 5 Andy Grundman 2008-07-07 11:34:02 UTC
No, it's a preference for that particular player:

Do not scrobble this player
Scrobble to account: foo
Scrobble to account: bar
Comment 6 Chris Owens 2008-07-14 09:40:47 UTC
Please let us know what the text should be.
Comment 7 Chris Owens 2008-07-21 10:24:30 UTC
Do not scrobble
Use account: foo
