Description Bart 2005-02-24 13:45:13 UTC
If you have the web interface open in Internet Explorer, possibly in other
browsers, when Slimserver crashes (all too frequent), once you restart, the
title bar reads "Cannot Find Server" and always reads "Cannot Find Server"
until you exit.

You should be able to reload the browser window to get this back. Is this not the case? Please reopen
the bug if it's still an issue.

In Internet Explorer on XP when Slimserver crashes, once you restart, the
title bar still reads "Cannot Find Server" and always reads "Cannot Find
Server" until you exit.
I have reloaded by Ctrl-R, F5, View/Refresh and by clicking on the Refresh
button.
In Mozilla on Linux the title bar does not change - you get a message "The
operation timed out when attempting to contact..."
In Firefox on XP the title bar does not change - you get a message "The
operation timed out when attempting to contact..."

I'm confused by this. Are the steps:

1. SlimServer is running.
2. Connect to slimserver with IE. Window looks fine.
3. SlimServer crashes.
4. IE now says "Cannot Find Server"
5. Restart SlimServer
6. Hit Reload
7a. IE cannot reconnect to SlimServer with reload.
or is 7:
7b. IE can reconnect to SlimServer, window contents are fine, but title bar is incorrect.

I see the 7b behavior here, but the incorrect title bar is a bug in IE. Nothing we can do, really.
I don't see either behavior in Firefox on XP. Reloading works fine and shows the window completely
right.

If I've got this wrong, please reopen the bug with additional details.

Now, the crashing bit shouldn't happen at all. Please file a bug about the crashing behavior including
the Event information about the crash. Really want to fix those so that this behavior never happens
anyways!

It is the IE bug that I am experiencing. Can quite understand that there is
nothing you can do about it...
Crashes are much less frequent now than even a few weeks ago!
