Bugzilla – Bug 8542
bass and treble adjustment is backward.
Last modified: 2008-08-28 16:58:49 UTC
This was reported by multiple CAT testers and verified on a PQP3 unit unboxed on 6/23 and connected to boom.squeezenetwork.com. Selecting the Bass or Treble adjustment and then turning the scroll wheel causes bass/treble to be adjusted in the wrong way. Ie. if you turn to the right, the on-screen bar moves to the LEFT, and the bass/treble is decreased. In virtually all other consumer electronics, turning the wheel to the right increases the bass/treble.
Sorry, piggybacking on the existing bug report. Pressing the BACK button saves the changes to the bass/treble adjustment. I believe the more commonly selected behavior is that BACK means "escape without saving". Suggest that BACK backs out to the previous menu without saving, and pressing the wheel saves the setting, displays a brief confirmation, and returns to the previous menu.
Verified fixed in r17 When in bass / treble / stereoXL menu item, moving the knob left/right moves the display in the proper direction. However, I was unable to notice any difference in a playing stream when either of these settings were adjusted.
treble/bass/stereoxl functions do not exist in hardware. As noted many many times, it is ui only. knob being backwards is probably the same issue behind a number of bugs that complain about scrolling in the wrong direction when using the knob.
Bass/Treble should be working now when using caleb's posted i2c. Can't recall the FW version it was planned for.
Everyone thinks this should be fixed now (except in SN). If you are still seeing this please re-open it!
