The setup process has a few screens (connecting, attempting to get IP, etc.) which display for several seconds. The Boom screen saver appears to default to ON, with a low timeout... perhaps 10 - 20 seconds. The result is that for new users, the screen saver will engage while they are waiting for their product to connect. When the screen goes blank, users are liable to think something is wrong. Even if they don't, it's a bit of a hassle to keep repeatedly hitting the button to wake up the display during the setup process.

This was reported by a CAT tester; suggestion #PS-0069.

This has been fixed in Boom fw 18.

During first time setup (i.e. after a player reset), all messages (including error messages) stay on the display (i.e. no screen saver will kick in).

After the first successful connection to SC or SN however the screen saver is activated again to kick in after about 10 seconds.

This bug has been fixed in the 7.3.0 release version of SqueezeCenter!

Please download the new version from http://www.slimdevices.com/su_downloads.html if you haven't already.
