any fix put in for FF3 will need to be cross-checked against FF2 and esp. IE

Firefox 3 is currently on RC3, so this deserves to be fixed probably.  On the other hand, how many users use the 'touch' skin with a full PC running FF3?

Since there's a conspicuous lack of development and QA time for 7.1, I'm going to target this for 7.2

7.2 is fine, though I should point out that FF3.0.0 was released June 17

This bug has been fixed in the 7.3.0 release version of SqueezeCenter!

Please download the new version from http://www.slimdevices.com/su_downloads.html if you haven't already.  

If you are still experiencing this problem, feel free to reopen the bug with your new comments and we'll have another look.
