Bugzilla – Bug 8467
Inconsitent knob functionality on "Now Playing" screen
Last modified: 2008-12-15 11:58:39 UTC
CAT Report PR0058, Also verified by QA. SC / SN do not have the same knob behavior on the now playing screen. ------------- Description * The knob now controls the volume, which is great, but I've found that it doesn't quite work correctly in a specific circumstance. When going into a "station" using Pandora and getting to the "Now Playing" screen, I've found that the volume works correctly. However, if I skip a song using the remote and then try to use the knob, it attempts to skip rather than control the volume even though it's still on the now playing screen. If you really crank the knob you will use up all of your hourly skips and it will display the "Exceeded the hourly skip limit" message. Steps to Duplicate * Enter a Pandora station. Go to the now playing screen. Turning the knob now adjusts the volume. Skip a song using the FWD button either on the remote or on the main unit. Turning the knob now acts like the FWD button rather than adjusting the volume. -------------
Behavior between SN/SC does not match the knob turn either. On SN, the knob is volume when on now playing On SC, the knob is not volume when on now playing
Andy: Are you the right person to take a look at this? Please comment and re-assign / target appropriately.
Can you reproduce in 7.2? Boom SN is running old code and this behavior has changed again.
Verified with 7.2-21249 When the Now Playing screen saver is active, then the center knob properly acts as the volume control. When the Now Playing screen saver is not active, then the center knob properly acts as forward/backward selector.
