Bugzilla – Bug 8446
Issues synchronizing multiple players while playing Rhapsody
Last modified: 2009-07-31 10:22:54 UTC
A user has reported an issue synchronizing multiple players while playing Rhapsody. Sync works fine for his own music. He has tested synching while playing Rhapsody from both SC and SN with the same results. He has tried this test while all three players are connected to the router using ethernet. Here is his description of the issue. First, the problem is not specific to SqueezeNetwork. I encounter similar problems when using SqueezeCenter. There are problems anytime I try to synchronize devices while using Rhapsody. I've had no problems with synchronization when playing from my locally stored music library, even after 20-30 hours of music. Here are some details on the problem when connected to SqueezeCenter. My setup is: SqueezeBox #1: Duet SqueezeBox #2: Classic SqueezeBox #3: Duet All three SqueezeBoxes were synchronized, connected to SqueezeCenter. While playing a Rhapsody playlist, SqueezeBox #1 stopped playing, while SqueezeBox #2 kept playing until end of the song. The light on SqueezeBox #1 stayed bright white. I don't know if SqueezeBox #3 kept playing during this song. At the end of the song, none of the SqueezeBoxes were playing. The Duet #1 Controller showed the current song, with the timer counting from 0 to 30 seconds in a loop. SqueezeCenter showed the same thing, except that the timer counted from 0 to 4 seconds. After pressing play a couple times on SqueezeBox #1, all players resumed playing.

QA needs to try to reproduce this issue.
Created attachment 3481 [details] Server Log
I have attached the server log from the customer with the debug parameters that James suggested.
This appears to be addressed in SqueezeCenter 7.1-21761 Controller 7.1 r2697 Receiver r35 SB2/3 r100 Transporter r49 NOTE: Rhapsody limits 3 devices per account, when attempting to add a 4th account a message will be displayed explaining this.
This bug has been fixed in the 7.3.0 release version of SqueezeCenter! Please download the new version from http://www.slimdevices.com/su_downloads.html if you haven't already.
