Bugzilla – Bug 8444
iTunes files hiss (mov123)
Last modified: 2009-10-05 14:34:50 UTC
Sean thinks this is an issue with mp4 decoding. See the url above for more info.
Hi, I changed my convert.conf to use FAAD instead of mov123. Now the hiss is gone, everything sounds perfect. So there certainly is an issue with mov123 (maybe the library calls are no longer supported after one of the recent quicktime updates?). Please investigate.
Chris, I don't have the ability to look at this really. I'm assigning this to dean so he can include it in his thoughts about this whole area.
QA to reproduce.
Steven: Can you have a look at this one
Most likely moving to FAAD2 for 8.0.
QA to verify that this is not an issue with faad in 7.4.
The change from mov123 to faad for aac was actually implemented in 7.3.3 so this should no longer be an issue. Please reopen and add comments if you still see this issue with 7.3.3 or higher.
