I did a search for an album, and then saved the result as a favorite.  This favorite has a URL of:

 db:album.titlesearch=Who's On First

When I try to play that favorite, I get a single entry on the playlist with this URL and nothing plays.

I saw this on 7.2, but if it's happening on 7.1, we should fix it for that release.  QA: please verify

I just tried this out with 7.1, and it seems to work properly.
current checkout of 7.2 also seems to work correctly.

Unable to reproduce on 7.1, QA should re-test for 7.2

This bug has been fixed in the 7.3.0 release version of SqueezeCenter!

Please download the new version from http://www.slimdevices.com/su_downloads.html if you haven't already.
