Description Dan Evans 2008-06-13 13:51:29 UTC
Support has a report of trouble with an Buffalo WZR2-G300N router. Text from ticket: (080505-002786)

"PROBLEM - Duet cannot connect

 - Installed on Vista system (64 bit).
 - upgraded server to 7.0.1
 - successfully connected via Bridged Mode and updated firmware

Cannot connect wirelessly, but yesterday we were able to connect using ethernet (bridged) and update the fw. Once we attempted to connect to the wireless network it would fail. We get to the point where the Controller is attempting to obtain an IP address and the setup halts there and gives the message, " Address Problem"

Tried G-only Mode, without success.

Customer has historically had issues with this router and plans to go purchase a new router."

...

That's the last we heard from this customer.

Was firmware discussed at all? 2007-09-11 - version 1.26
Comment 2 Dan Evans 2008-06-13 14:15:58 UTC

targetting as future so it doesn't show up on our search for untargetted bugs

Definitely something going on here. Testing from 1425 and Receiver 18, connecting and upgrading works fine 50% of the time. The other 50% of the time both SBC and SBR update firmware, SBR connects fine, but SBC does not connect to SC after firmware update reboot. SBC shows settings and choose player, there are no players to choose from the choose player menu, and settings -> music source does not show SC.

Note: simply waiting 15 minutes or more in the second state described will result in SBC working as it should.

This is consistently reproducible with r2873, Duet fails to connect every time. Richard when you're here in Mountain View next month I hope you'll have some time to take a look. Or would you like me to ship this router to you?

Fixed in 7.3.3 - r5225. If you've experienced this bug please update to latest nightly 7.3.3 build. Install the new version of SqueezeCenter, update your Duet firmware, factory reset both Controller and Receiver and setup one more time. Please post here in the bug with your findings.
