Description Ross Levine 2008-06-09 16:39:18 UTC
In order to authorize a Last.FM account on SqueezeNetwork the user must be logged into their Last.FM account during authorization. If the user is not logged into their Last.FM account it will fail without clear indication of the issue. Likewise if the user is logged into a different Last.FM account it will also fail.

Perhaps last.fm account settings page on SN should clearly indicate this requirement at least until this bug is resolved.

I am logged into my last.fm account and this still fails!

That is, I have logged into their Web site. Is that what "logging in" means?

Ah. I had to log into squeezenetwork and do it there. Why didn't you tell me this? I wasted an hour on this. Surely this needs to be fixed somewhat urgently.

But this worked on one of my squeezeservers, but not on the other one. Is there a limit of one server?

Totally frustrating....
Comment 5 James Rome 2008-08-01 16:05:19 UTC
Even worse. I restarted my server and my last.fm account had disappeared on the server advanced page.

The Last.FM GUI in SqueezeNetwork leaves a lot to be desired. I logged into Last, and then was presented with my username and a check box next to it, and to its right it said "authorize this user." I checked the check box and the OK button. Many times. Why else would the check box be there? Nothing happened.

But no, I was required to click the "authorize this user" link (which I did not notice) to activate myself.

Grrrr.....
Comment 7 Andy Grundman 2008-08-02 09:31:58 UTC
The page includes instructions, but I guess nobody reads those...
Comment 8 James Rome 2008-08-02 10:46:41 UTC
Then what is the check box for? The link should be a button that says "Authorize".

Punting to next release.
