I would like to have the ability to select an artist and have his/her tracks played randomly and without repetition.  I would like to be able to select an artist or album and have an option on the screen for play all or select specific tracks for random playing.

John, is this on Squeezenetwork or SqueezeCenter?  How would this differ from making a playlist and using the shuffle function?

The shuffle function is a (not very accessible) settingwhich may not be correctly positionned at the time you say "hey, I'd love to play this album randomly !" :)

Could be combined with an "Add to Now Playing" option, to make a great "Randomly Add to Now Playing", allowing you to build the following playlist :

Album 1 - Track 5
Album 1 - Track 2
etc.
Album 1 - Track 11
Album 2 - Track 5
Album 2 - Track 4
etc.
Album 2 - Track 17
