Squeezecenter 7.0.1 can see the symbolic link made for a USB external drive.
However, it does not recognize the files contained in the folder pointed to by the symbolic link. 
I tested it and verified the issue.

Indeed this fails. Symlink to another local directory works fine, SqueezeCenter follows it and both directories make it to the music library. This fails however when the Symlink points to a directory on USB flash.

permissions? I know in my case, usb mounts are root access.  lack of error message seems to fall with File::Next which is calling the error handler with no information.

Not the link's permissions, but those of the target folder.
