Description Brian Dils 2008-05-29 09:31:35 UTC
Some strings that we should shorten:

"Create a New Station" should be: or "New Station"
"Explicit Content Filter" should be: "Explicit Content".
"Allow Explicit Content" should be: "Allow Explicit"
"Sort Oldest Station First" should be: "Oldest First"
"Sort Newest Station First" should be: "Newest First"
"Sort Alphabetically" should be: "Alphabetically"
"Add more music to this station" should be: "Add Music"

Boom only?
Comment 2 Brian Dils 2008-06-23 17:16:47 UTC
I would say Boom only for now....some of these aren't very descriptive but we did what we had to do to fit them in. If we have room we should show the whole string on the other players. I'm not too worried about the inconsistency across players for something like this...
Comment 3 Michael Herger 2008-06-24 00:56:14 UTC
Andy - these are strings which are delivered from SN. Does SN know about a player type's limitations? On SC we can have SOME_STRING_ABBR to get a shorter version.
Comment 4 Andy Grundman 2008-06-24 05:08:10 UTC
Ugh, yeah we'll need to add _ABBR strings to SN and have SN check the requesting MAC for player type.
Comment 5 Michael Herger 2008-07-24 05:23:45 UTC
change 22056 - thanks for the artwork
Comment 6 Michael Herger 2008-07-24 05:31:38 UTC
Oops, wrong bug. Sorry.
Comment 7 Michael Herger 2008-07-24 08:43:59 UTC
Andy - as SN is now based on SC, won't the string handling be inherited once we're moving to 7.2?
Comment 8 Andy Grundman 2008-07-24 08:49:01 UTC
Not for these strings, SN will need to handle it. But that's easy as the player ID is sent with each request.
Comment 9 Andy Grundman 2008-07-24 09:04:47 UTC
Should work now in QA r4164.
Comment 10 Michael Herger 2008-07-25 02:01:50 UTC
thanks Andy
Comment 11 Ross Levine 2008-08-27 15:29:53 UTC
What ever came of this? Andy notes we did not create the shorter strings but rather this bug is about supporting them. This is targeted for 7.2 and marked as fixed, yet I still see longer strings. I'm sorry if I just don't understand.
Comment 12 Andy Grundman 2008-08-27 16:31:48 UTC
I will make these string changes tonight.
Comment 13 Andy Grundman 2008-08-27 17:37:40 UTC
Fixed in trunk r4421.
