Description Max Spicer 2008-05-18 04:02:43 UTC
When the brightness level is changed automatically by the ambient light sensor the changes are too sudden at the moment - brightness goes from one level to the next in a sudden, binary step. The wow factor could be increased significantly by having the brightness smoothly ramp up/down from the old level to the next.

Felix slowed it down a bunch, but the jump happens later. Can we slowly ramp up/down?

Comment 2 Andy Grundman 2008-06-04 16:57:32 UTC
I think at least some change in brightness should happen as soon as possible when the light level changes. Otherwise, it's too bright in your bedroom for 5 seconds after turning off the light, or unreadable for 5 seconds when you turn on a light.

yes, we can slowly fade, this requires we pwm the annode voltage. Sean or felix needs to work that out.
Comment 4 Felix Mueller 2008-07-25 01:05:44 UTC
This won't make it into 7.2
Comment 5 Felix Mueller 2008-11-04 03:45:21 UTC
Moving out bug that won't make it for 7.3
Comment 6 Felix Mueller 2008-11-06 09:36:09 UTC
Doh, there will be no 7.4 - moving it to 8.0

All new Squeezebox products are likely to be based on the SqueezePlay platform.
We do not plan to implement any further enhancements to the ip3k firmware or
which are targeted specifically at ip3k-based products.
