Bugzilla – Bug 8177
SBC fails to connect to SN, when waking after SC was shut down.

Thanks to Pungh0li0 from the forums for pointing this out. Anoop, Mickey and myself have tried this a number of times and reproduced it only 3 times, this is an intermittent bug. Connect Duet to SC 7.0.1, let Controller sleep (or suspend, reproduced with both). Shut down SC, then wake Jive. Full home menu is displayed with blue wireless icon. Select settings - advanced - music source - SN, Ray connects immediately Jive fails to connect.
Ben should this be assigned to Richard?
Fixed in 7.1 r2600.
Sorry, it's still not fixed. The only change is that now I can exit the Tray Icon and it stays connected to my computer. But if I exit everything or shut down my computer while controller is asleep I still get the described behavior. The only way to connect to SN is shut off controller and turn it back on. Thanks, Pungh0Li0
Can you please describe your network setup, and exactly the order you power down and power on the devices. Thanks.
I'm using a Linksys wrt54g router that Mickey sent me in an earlier attempt to resolve the issue. Computers are all XP. My desktop is wired connection. Cable modem (Surfboard?). With my computer on I can connect to SC and SN whenever I want. I connect to my computer's SC then I let the controller sit for a couple minutes until it goes dark. If I then shut down my computer then wake up the controller and tell it to connect, it searches for sources and shows that it found my Computer (which is off) and SqueezeNetwork. If I tell it to connect to SN it just spins and times out. SN webpage shows my receiver is connected. If I boot up my computer, same thing. It won't connect to anything. If I hold the power button on the controller until it shuts down, then turn it back on, everything connects perfectly again. Thanks, Pungh0Li0
I have just retested this here and it seems to be working for me. Tested with 7.1 r2653. Can you confirm the Controller firmware version (look in Settings > Advanced > About). The version with the fix in is not yet available via the update site (it is with QA before release), but should be available soon. I suspect you are still using the older version? Also are you using a Squeezebox Receiver, or an earlier player? Previous players won't connect to SN after your SC has been turned off until bug 6684 is implemented.
I have r2649 and a new controller. Your comment 6/26/08 said it was in fixed in r2600. I will test again when r2653 is released. Thanks, Joe
Worked 10/10 times for me here in the office with r2657. Thanks Richard. Joe or anyone else if you still see this issue please feel free to re-open the bug with comments.
This bug has now been fixed in the 7.1 release version of SqueezeCenter! Please download the new version from http://www.slimdevices.com if you haven't already. If you are still experiencing this problem, feel free to reopen the bug with your new comments and we'll have another look.
