Description Mike 2008-05-15 18:39:13 UTC
7.0.1 r2448 (although it this may be true since 7.0.1)

see http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?p=302174#post302174 starting at msg #13

When you navigate to the Applet Installer screen it is blank. The back button does not function, but you can press the home button to get out of the screen.

I turned on some more logging and this is what appears when you enter the Applet Installer screen:

I believe this is fixed in squeezecenter change 19854. Please test and confirm.

All fixed for me in 7.0.2 - 19876

I will second that with 7.0.2 - 19924 which I just got this morning.
Thanks for the quick fix Triode.

I am suffering this bug, though I downloaded 7.0.1 a couple of days since.
I see this is marked as resolved and the references, etc. below, but could someone please advise this newbie on how I can obtain the fix?

You can either wait until 7.0.2 becomes the new stable release and install that or you can install one of the nightly builds that are used for testing.

The nightly build that I installed to test that the bug was fixed was this one:

http://www.slimdevices.com/downloads/nightly/SqueezeCenter_trunk_v2008-05-19/

This is what I am still running now and seems solid. Just use the exe to install it, assuming you are using Windows.

There are other more recent nightly builds of 7.0.x in:

http://www.slimdevices.com/downloads/nightly/

But I can't vouch for how solid they are, I only tested the one linked above.

Andy - your previous reply appreciated.
Have just done as instructed but this did not seem to make any change to the controller.
I've even factory reset it and after initial configuration steps it continues to tell me that "The software for this remote is up to date. If you'd like to reinstall version 7.0.1 r2448...". Proceeding to reinstall made no difference.
Hence original issue still persisting for me. :(
I'm obviously missing doing something else I need to?
Would very much appreciate any further suggestions you could make to assist.
Thanks in advance.

The bug isn't in the Controller firmware, the Applet Installer on the Controller works fine in r2448. The bug is in the SqueezeCenter code that builds the list of available Applets.

So after installing that SC 7.0.2 build you will still be on r2448 on the SBC, but in theory at least the update to SC will fix the issue. Are you sure you have some working applets in the plugins folder on the server (not all the applets currently work). For example try the Invaders applet, that one works.

BINGO!
Over the line.
Thanks for all your help with this Andy.
