Description Mikkel Herold 2008-05-15 03:17:42 UTC
Can't believe no one has filed a bug report for this one ...:

I run Squeezecenter oin a Synology Diskstation - a linux based NAS. All works well, but I am effectively exposing my entire music collection to the world by not password protecting SC.

Luckily such a feature exists in SC, but - and this is the bug - if you enable password protection in Squeezecenter, the Controller can no longer access it!

You can still, of course, play music from the web GUI, but this, to me, is a major bug. If anyone finds out the IP address of my NAS (which shouldn't be too difficult), they can log in to Squeezecenter and download (or delete!) my music files.

This is a duplicate of bug 5887. The bug was fixed with firmware 2281 for the Controller. The current release firmware for the Controller is 2448. If you still experience this issue with Controller firmware 2448 please reopen this bug and add additional comments.
