Description Marc Auslander 2008-05-10 13:44:06 UTC
I have a favorite hot key for the radiotime link to WCBS in NY

http://opml.radiotime.com/StationPlaylist.axd?stationId=27760&Formats=mp3,wma,real&username=millwood

If my SB3 is off, showing the date and time screensaver, and I press and hold the hot key, the display says connecting to stream for a moment, then returns to the time of day. The display remains in the dim brightness level set for off.

After a delay which is about right for connecting to this stream, the player spontaneously comes on and starts playing.

I suspect that the hot key is not fully taking the player out of the off state until the stream starts.

This does not show up on streams which connect quickly.

I have no reason to believe this is a newly introduced problem - I've just started using the hot keys and just realized they would turn the player on.

Alan notes that the power on state is only triggered by the start of play. If it's more complicated than that, push it off.
