Bugzilla – Bug 8105
Display Lyrics in Duet Controller
Last modified: 2008-12-15 13:08:24 UTC
I would like to have the possibility to read lyrics (from tag) in Controller. Currently only a few tags are available. Display the artwork of the song is nice, but does not make so much sense after a few seconds, once you have seen it and identified visually the song. After a while you may want either to do something else like readings news while you're still listening the song, which is possible right now, or to investigate the song, by most likely displaying the associated lyrics. Displaying only artwork is just not enough! I'm entering this support request since I don't get any answer to my post in the forum.
please leave target milestone undefined.
This is available via a 3rd party plug in. Dean, is this a feature we want to include by default?
Yes, the plugin is the way to go for now. Leaving bug open so that folks can vote on it, etc.
The plugin solution is good enough for now as soon as the integration is well done. There was a problem with a broken link from the download page thus this request, but I'm checking again, and it is back now. So let see how it works
I made a try to the plugin and unfortunately it does not work in my case. Contrary to the Squeezebox version of the plugin, on the duet it only tries to retrieve lyrics from the internet and not from the tag inside the file. So a few lyrics are proposed to me, but none correspond to my songs (I am not listening popular music).
Is this bug still valid? I've tagged my files (mp3 + flac) with the LYRICS-Tag and can read it on my controller. I think it was added by Ben a few months ago to 7.2 which is now released... i've got no plugin installed, all lyrics are pulled from local tags. kind regards, Markus
No actually, this has been fixed, and already in 7.1! Thanks!
This bug appears to have been fixed in the latest release! If you are still experiencing this problem, feel free to reopen the bug with your new comments and we'll have another look. Make sure to include the version number of the software you are seeing the error with.
