Description Michael Kunzmann 2008-05-06 23:45:30 UTC
Squeezebox Controller is in the Cradle.
Connected to local SqueezeCenter.
Controlling a SB3.
SB3 is powered off.
SBC is displaying the Analog Clock screen saver.

If SqueezeCenter goes to sleep the Analog clock screen saver on the Controller will stop some time later.
If you pick up the controller it shows the correct time.
(both 7.0 r2097 and 7.0.1 r2287 are affected)
Comment 1 Michael Kunzmann 2008-05-06 23:47:30 UTC
With SqueezeCenter going to sleep i mean the server goes to standby or hibernation.
Comment 2 Spies Steven 2008-05-07 09:25:27 UTC
Michael, did you happen to notice what firmware version was on the Controller when you saw this behavior?
Comment 3 Michael Kunzmann 2008-05-07 11:10:27 UTC
I saw it on the firmware delivered with SqueezeCenter 7.0 (as far as I remember R2097) and on the firmware that was installed when i upgraded to SqueezeCenter 7.0.1 (r2287, I don't have the controller at hand currently).
Comment 4 Spies Steven 2008-05-07 11:25:30 UTC
Thanks Michael, if you are running 7.0.1 you should now be getting firmware 2409 for the Controller.

Would you try running the latest nightly and verify that 2409 is indeed on the Controller and then see if the clock screen saver stops updating?
Comment 5 Michael Kunzmann 2008-05-07 12:17:40 UTC
I upgraded to the latest nightley (7.0.1)
The controller asked for update to r2409.
Update successfully.

Behaves exactly the same as in the previous releases.

Controller in the cradle, server goes to standby.
Clock stopy about 15 to 20 minutes later on the controller.
As soon as you pick up the controller from the cradle the clock (lower right corner) shows the correct time.

Thanks Michael, I see it here too just as you described.
Comment 7 Ben Klaas 2008-05-09 11:32:39 UTC
this is not critical for 7.0.1 release. Retargetting for 7.1
Comment 8 Richard Titmuss 2008-07-03 09:39:30 UTC
Today I found a timer bug that could cause timers to be wrongly canceled. It is likely that this was the cause of this bug. It is fixed in 7.1 r2658.

I am going to mark this as fixed now, but if you still see the problem after upgrading then please reopen the bug.
Comment 9 Richard Titmuss 2008-07-07 08:54:35 UTC
Another timer related fix went in 7.1 r2667, this could also be a cause of the stopped clock.
Comment 10 Chris Owens 2008-07-30 15:32:39 UTC
This bug has now been fixed in the 7.1 release version of SqueezeCenter! Please download the new version from http://www.slimdevices.com if you haven't already.

If you are still experiencing this problem, feel free to reopen the bug with your new comments and we'll have another look.
