Description James Richardson 2008-04-29 06:47:03 UTC
When attempting to change the Display Settings for a SB3 using the UI, I get unexpected results.

Changing Brightness when idle to OFF will turn the display off when playing

Once this has happened, I am unable to get the display back on using the WEB UI.

I need to set the brightness level to anything but off, then power cycle the SB3 for it to turn the display back on.

Setting Brightness when OFF also does not function properly.

see bug 7922. The fix should also address this issue, as a setting of 0 causes the display change to bypass (presumably due to an earlier threat and screaming about any show of display after a user specifically set the brightness to OFF).

Not also that idle refers to IR use, not playback. Idle brightness will come into effect even while playing, along with the chosen "while playing" screensaver (they use the same timeout).

The fix posted to 7922 allows brightness to be updated in any mode as long as the 'automatic' setting is used. It will also allow updates even if set to 0.
