Description Julius Dauz 2008-04-28 12:37:12 UTC
Users receive an error while plyaing Pandora. Error reads as follows:

500 SSL Error Read Timeout.

As I understand it, if you do not interact with Pandora for a certain amount of time, this error will come up. I have had reports from a couple customers that this will some times happen within ten minutes of playing a station.
Comment 1 Andy Grundman 2008-04-28 12:38:11 UTC
Just to clarify, this error happens when we are unable to retrieve the next track to play from Pandora. It is not related to the 8-hour idle timer.
Comment 2 Julius Dauz 2008-04-28 14:04:18 UTC
That is correct. A couple of customers have reported this occurring before the 8 hour idle time out.

Let me know if you need any other information.

Any progress on this bug? Is there anything else I can provide to help move this bug along?

Comment 4 Andy Grundman 2008-05-06 17:39:37 UTC
I worked a bit with Carl from Pandora on this yesterday, he determined it's a problem with their server being very slow returning some playlist responses. He's working on it.
Comment 5 Andy Grundman 2008-05-07 06:20:48 UTC
Carl thinks the issue is fixed, we'll keep an eye on it.

Thanks for the update Andy. I will ask the users I am helping with this to see if they have noticed anything different.
Comment 7 Andy Grundman 2008-05-07 13:00:10 UTC
There are still some occurring, but a lot less than before. Carl is still working on a better solution.
