I just tried the same thing here and can confirm the issue.

SqueezeCenter Version: 7.0.1 - 18463 @ Sun Apr 6 00:21:47 PDT 2008 - Windows XP - EN - cp1252

Choosing Switch to SN from the SC7 main menu for a SBR does the webpage redirect but nothing else. Doing the same thing for a SB3 works fine.

Not a bug, we specifically do not switch SBR's to SN via the website because it's possible to 'lose' it without a way to get it back to SC. With no display, it must be controlled through the SBC.

Well in that case shouldn't the option be unavailable if an SBR is selected? At the very least the user should get some feedback that the switch hasn't been made. As it stands I get redirected to the SN page which says the player isn't connected - highly confusing.

Ok then, but one question remains.

The Reciever will eventually be sold as a separate item right ?

It's eventually going to be possible to configure a Reciever without the Controller right ?

There Going to be users that have the Reciever with out an Controller right ?

Are these user's going to have acess to SqueezeNetwork ?

There are other options to control a player, thats why i raised the bug.
If SBR and SBC where inseparable from eachother then i would not have raised the bug ?

Wouldn't you just need a mechanism in firmware to fall back to connecting to the local SC server if the device thinks it should connect to SN but fails? Hasn't this capability been requested anyway?

This is now fixed apparently you changed your mind.

In the late 7.4 beta I can use squeezeboxserver (was squeezecenter ) to switch my SBR to test.squeezenetwork.com (to be mysqueezebox.com )

mysqueezebox.com is now a visible option under>extras>music source
for the SBR to.

Thankyou
