Bugzilla – Bug 7955
Built-voice over screen reader crashes Safari
Last modified: 2012-02-27 17:33:23 UTC
Created attachment 3280 [details] Safari Crash Message On Mac OS 10.5.x when the Voice Over Screen Reader (Apple key/Alt + F5) is being used, accessing the SqueezeCenter Web UI doesn't work. In fact, it crashes Safari. This only happens if you try to access the SC UI. If you open up Safari to access normal web pages, this crash does not occur. I have attached the text from the error message details that is generated when this happens.
Forgot to add, this does not happen when using Firefox as the default browser.
I'd consider this a safari or text-to-speech bug.
QA to have a look. Theory is there might be a javascript bug which one browser handles better than another. Of course, it could also be a browser bug in which case we can't do anything.
I was able to reproduce the crash as reported with Safari 3.1. I updated to the recently released Safari 3.1.1 and I am no longer able to reproduce the crash on both Mac OS X 10.4 and 10.5. It appears it was a Safari bug after all ;)
Verified fixed in Safari 3.1.1 & 3.1.2
