Description Baron Nealy 2005-01-21 07:14:08 UTC
Team - the syncronization between devices and Squeezeboxes is inconsistant.
There are times it works well but over time while listening the sync is lost -
the result is an extremely prominent echo. I have read that SlimDevices plans
to add a network clock - this needs to be done as a priority since the product
touts "whole house audio." The product is promising in most areas but this
needs to be addressed sooner than later.

It would be preferrable for SlimServer to be an application from which you can
access SoftSqueeze and Squeezebox without using a preference pane - toggling
between devices is at times cumbersome. I've also noticed it is necessary to
refresh the browser to access the player controls - it seems when SlimServer
refreshes on its own the Java portion omits the player controls. It would also
be nice if the header that contains the "Clear" button remained in view as
opposed to having to scroll the page to the top.

first comment cc'd to bug259.

Marking this bug in relation to the second comment. This would be considered an
enhancement, likely possible through the use of a custom skin. Softsqueeze does
have an applet option which could be embedded in a section of one of the paages.
the Fishbone skin has a feature to undock the status window, giving you the
option of having each player's status open in its own small browser.

You can also consider bookmarking each player so that you have the option to
open any given player to its own window.
