Description Karl-Heinz Fink 2008-04-19 22:41:26 UTC
Hi together,

My Receiver does not connect to my wireless network.

It stops with a blue LED and that's it. The controller works fine and my Transporter plus another SB3 as well. The controller finds the Receiver as long as the red LED is blinking, but it cannot connect it to my network. With a cable, everything runs OK and the Receiver is working.

My router is a Fritzbox 7270. A very popular one now here in Germany. I'm running the latest 7.01 on a Ds207+ with SSODS, but also tried the same version on my PC. No difference.

I use WPA, but also tried with open network - no difference.

Anybody any idea what is wrong? As my Transporter, SB3 and Controller are working, there must be something wrong with the automatic settings on the Receiver. Is there no way to set the parameters for the wireless network by hand when the unit is hooked up on a cable?

Best regards

Hi,

with a trick I could get the system working. I used another router (Zyxel) with the same SSID and all the same settings and the receiver installed immediately. After that I swapped the router back to the Fritzbox and the Receiver is still working. At least until the next reset :-)

Before I did that, I also tried a Static IP - unfortunately it did not solve the problem. So it might be communication between controller and receiver during the blue LED period :-)

Hope it helps to identify the problem.

Thanks!

Best regards

Hi,

the problem could be solved by using another firmware on the Fitzbox (the latest official one) and a complete reset of the router with a fresh setup.

Looks the problem is caused by the so called "Labor" firmware. Guess I need to send a bug report to AVM now :-)

Best regards

Thanks for sharing. I am a bit surprised to hear that with the old Fritz firmware, SB and TR would connect but SBR wouldn't as it is essentially the same hardware.

Just a wild guess: Did you perhaps have MAC filtering turned on? This would have prevented any new wireless devices to connect successfully. Applying the new Fritz firmware and resetting the Fritz box probably turned that feature off again.

I am going to close this bug as with the new Fritz firmware your issues seems to be solved. Please feel free to reopen if it occurs again. Thanks.
